App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android.

Can I download the app for free?

There is a free version of the app, but the features are limited in comparison to the licensed version.

Are there any locked features in the trial version of the app?

There is no difference between the full version of the app and the trial version, other than the trial is limited to 30 days.

The free version of the app will only record in the AAC format, but the audio quality can be adjusted. With the licensed version of the app, the recording format is set via the Olympus Dictation Portal, the formats available are DS2 and DSS.

Are my dictations secure?

A number of security options are available, including Encryption (upto 256-bit AES encryption) and sending via HTTPS, FTPS, SFTP, etc.

No, Olympus/Olympus resellers do not have access to dictations on the ODDS server. Enabling encryption will also prevent unauthorised access to your dictations.

The recording will pause, when you return to the app it will bring up a prompt asking to continue recording or to stop.

The app can only be activated on one device at a time. If you wish to change the device, enter your details within the app on the second smartphone. You will receive a prompt to confirm whether you would like to move your license over to this phone, select Yes.

What is a Flashair card?

The FlashAir card is an SD memory card with wireless LAN functionality designed by Toshiba. It allows users to connect to it wirelessly and access any files on it. This card can be used in place of a regular SD card in a DS-7000/3500 (on the latest version of firmware). The Olympus Dictation App then utilises this by allowing users to connect to the card to retrieve dictations from their Professional voice recorder. They can then use the app to send these dictations.

Class 6 and 8 cards are supported with the Olympus Dictation app. Class 10 is supported from version 1.1.1 (iOS) and 1.0.3 (Android).

Is it possible to migrate the settings from a Trial license to a Standard license?

Yes, as long as the Standard license has been purchased before the trial period is over.
